Team Viaspire is Grateful

Every year, Team Viaspire participates in a brisk and jubilant 10K run in Sacramento benefiting the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, called Run to Feed the Hungry. This year, we will be one of over 26,000 people all walking and running for this great local fundraising event - perhaps even topping the charts this year, officially, as the largest Thanksgiving Day run nationwide.

It is on this day that we are reminded about community, participation and cause. There is so much we can do collectively. So many great things we can accomplish and make better. So much we have to be grateful for.

We are energized and appreciate every day that we are a part of the industrious and entrepreneurial spirit of Sacramento and Bay Area communities. Today, our thoughts turn gratefully to those who continue to make our progress possible. We are thankful to our clients, partners and online virtual community of friends, followers and fans!

To all of our readers in the U.S., we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. To our followers abroad, thanks for your readership and being a part of our ongoing conversation.

NerdFighters for Earth Day

There is a Nerdfighter movement for Earth Day, called EARTH DAY 2008: NERDFIGHTER Project 1.0. I'm just hearing about it now, but it is a very cool concept and results will be reported once all the trash Nerdfighters collect is tallied. Check out the video to find out more.

So, Who Are These Nerdfighters, You Ask?
Nerdfighters is a group to reckon with as they created a world-wide call to action to show Nerdfighters your Happy Dance. As some of you who follow me on Twitter know, I too, have been known to break out with the Viaspire (Crazy) Happy Dance. There's video, thanks to @Melonhead, but it's now in heavy litigation. (Ha!)

Let's take this moment on Earth Day and think green, think peace and do the Happy Dance!

Viaspire Buys Control of Google for $100B

Sacramento, CA -- Interactive marketing firm, Viaspire, announces it has purchased controlling stock of Google (GOOG) for $100B. Avery Dority, COO, reports the first order of business is to begin phasing out search. "To maximize the revenue potential of Orkut it is necessary to decommission search, which has not proven to be utilized or recognized in the marketplace." Heather Dority, CEO, says, "We are confident it is time to take the Google brand and suite of services to the next level. We feel there is no better time to 'flip the switch' than on April 1, 2008."

Short & Sweet via Text

We recently were at a Twitter Meet Up and a friend of ours reluctantly told us of a break up he had over text messaging. He wasn't proud of it, but he admitted "time, place and context of the text string" warranted the message to be delivered at the time via SMS.

Getting on Twitter this morning, there was a lot of conversation about how to convey your love today, on Valentine's Day. @Jeffl posted the symbol for the day - "Twitter Hearts" <3.

I sent my husband 140 characters of the traditional X's and O's (XOXO = hugs and kisses), but many sent "hearts."

Language is a visual art. This is proof of the simplicity of an image and the message conveyed therein.

We got  our final issue today of Business 2.0. It's sad because even in this very thin issue, I find inspiration from their content. Ironically, this issue is filled with advertisers too.

We look forward to Fortune 2.0. I hope Fortune knows why Business 2.0 was so beloved by its subscriber-base.
